His Children
"God sent his Son . . . so we could become his children." Galatians 4:4-5
We . . . were orphans.
Alone.
No name. No future. No hope.
Were it not for our adoption as God's children we would have no place to belong. We sometimes forget that.

The Bible.. Did you know that when you carry "the Bible", Satan has a headache, when you open it, he collapses, when he sees you reading it, he loses his strength, AND when you stand on the Word of God, Satan can't hurt you! And did you also know... when you are about to pass this on to others, the devil will discourage you, but do it anyway.
The Bible says, "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?
Run in such a way that you may obtain it" (1 Cor 9:24 NKJV). In life you only get to run once,
so run to win. To avoid stumbling or losing your place, don't look back. You can't change the past,
but thank God you can learn from it and leave it behind. Don't be anxious about the next lap, focus
only on the next step. If you miss that you may fall and not get up again. Before you know it you'll
soon have more laps behind you than ahead of you, so make every lap count: "Let us lay aside every
weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."
And, perhaps most important, you need direction. If you have only a person but no renewed vision, all you have
is company. If he has a vision but no direction, you have a dreamer for company. But if you have a person with
direction-who can take you from this place to the right place-ah, then you have one who can restore your hope.
Christians are still people just like you. We are not perfect and we stuff things up somtimes.
As for me (Anthony) my computer still drives me crazy, and some times I do swear at it because
it will not do what I think it should do. Some times I feel like shooting it with a colt 45.
Daily Devotional, October 17, 2011 "A Man After God's Own Heart""
Excerpted from Heart of The Story by Randy Frazee
1 Samuel 13:14
But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD's command."
Saul refused to go all in, and it cost him his throne. When God looked into the heart of David, he saw an "all in" kind of guy. Where others saw a shepherd covered with dirt and grime, God saw
a boy who went the extra mile to protect and care for his father's sheep.
As it turns out, it didn't take long to see David's heart at work on behalf of Israel. Israel was at war with the Philistines, and things weren't going well. The Philistines had what we might
call a "ringer," a kind of secret weapon. For example, let's say you are in a recreational basketball league where everyone is about the same age and ability except for one team that went out
and recruited a former college basketball star who is six inches taller than your tallest player. This guy would be considered a ringer, and the Philistines had one in an extremely large guy
named Goliath.
You probably already know how this story goes. Goliath mocks Saul's army every day because they are too cowardly to fight him. Jesse sends David to the front lines to deliver some home-cooked
food to his brothers. David hears Goliath taunting the Israelites and offers himself to Saul to go out and fight the obnoxious giant.
When Saul finally gives in, David refuses his offer of royal armor and instead picks up a few smooth stones and grabs his slingshot.
The rest, as they say, is history. One shot, and the nine-foot giant, Goliath, falls dead. Israel defeats the Philistines because a teenager trusts God. As Goliath prepares to crush David,
the shepherd shouts his confidence to the enemy: "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty."6
Talk about being "all in"! David doesn't mostly trust God. He doesn't ask a few soldiers to back him up with their spears. To him, it is a no-brainer: God will save us.
We think, "God can't possibly use me to build his perfect nation because I don't have a seminary degree." Or you aren't a dynamic speaker. Or you are unemployed. Or your marriage just fell apart.
Or you haven't been a follower of Jesus since childhood.
But God still has giants to kill. He still has big, hairy, audacious plans to accomplish that will take someone like David to get the job done. The shepherd boy's unlikely rise to power reminds
us that in the Upper Story, God often uses underdogs to advance his plan. He is not impressed with titles or rank or status but looks inside the heart to find people he can use. He knows that
with our willingness to go all in for him and his power to transform shepherds into kings, nothing is impossible.
Daily Devotional, October 12, 2011 "Please Excuse Me" ~ by Our Daily Journey God Tube.com
read> Jeremiah 1:1-10
You must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you (v.7).
At the library, I noticed an elderly woman browsing in the large-print book section. She shuffled down the aisles with a walker, stopping frequently to drop a book into her bulging tote bag.
Despite less0-than perfect eyesight, limited mobility, and failing strength, she was hauling home a hoard of books! Any one of her limitations would have been an ample excuse for staying home.
Jeremiah had what sounded like a solid excuse when God called him to be a prophet. He tried to back out by saying, "I'm too young!" (Jeremiah 1:6). But God responded, "Don't say 'I'm too young,'
for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you" (v.7). Like Jeremiah, some of us try to excuse ourselves from Christian service because of our relative inexperience. God cares
more about our obedience, however, than our experience level.
He anticipated Jeremiah's next possible excuse by advising, "Don't be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you" (v.8). God's presence and protection are more significant
than the people problems we may encounter in His service. Paul expressed it like this: "If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" (Romans 8:31).
While it's true that our excuses are unacceptable with our heavenly Father, He doesn't just demand obedience, promise protection, and leave it at that. In Jeremiah's case, the Lord reached
out and touched his mouth, saying "Look, I have put My words in your mouth!" (Jeremiah 1:9). Later, God told Jeremiah, "Today I have made you strong" (v.18). When we surrender our hesitant
hearts, God often gives us a glimpse of His enabling power. His supernatural support helps us to step forward and serve Him . . . without excuses!

John 3:1-36 (KJV)
Christ teaches Nicodemus the necessity of regeneration
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God:
for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be
born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of
the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not
these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath
ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son
into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is
condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his
deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. 23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim,
because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. 24 For John was not yet cast into prison. 25 Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples
and the Jews about purifying. 26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth,
and all men come to him. 27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. 28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ,
but that I am sent before him. 29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the
bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly,
and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. 32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. 33 He that hath
received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. 34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35 The
Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but
the wrath of God abideth on him.

- The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
- but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance....
- But in His permissive will, He allows us to accept Him or reject Him...He is a Just God...
- When you pray, ask for salvation of those you know are without Him and let the Holy Spirit convict them of their sin...

Florida Court Sets Atheist Holy Day!
Gotta love this Judge!
You must read this......a proper decision by the courts...for a change.
In Florida, an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against
Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.
The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,
"Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have
Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays..."
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists." The judge said, "The calendar says April
1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if
your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned..."; You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!
